Digitalization facilitates access to credit. The new Consumer Credit Directive aims to better protect consumers who want to take out loans from irresponsible lending practices. The new Consumer Credit Directive therefore ensures stricter rules and fair and secure access to credit.

fwp partner Gregor Schett, management consultant Waltraut Kotschy and Court Councillor of the Supreme Court and consultant for commercial and corporate law Wilma Dehn will inform you about the changes and clarify the differences between the VKrG and the HIKrG. Together, we will shed light on the data protection requirements for the permissibility of querying and processing creditworthiness data and focus on consumers' rights of withdrawal. Helpful tips for the practical procedure for granting loans and for drafting contracts will make it easier for you to implement them safely in practice. You can also expect special topics from current case law such as fees, early repayment penalties, default interest and reminder fees, joint loans, foreign currency loans, minimum interest rates and negative interest rates.
