Vienna, 15 July 2024: Led by fwp partner Markus Fellner, Fellner Wratzfeld & Partner (fwp) successfully advised Kommunalkredit Austria AG on the acquisition of an 80% majority interest by the Swedisch private equity investor Altor. In this way the bank, which specialises in infrastructure and energy financing, will continue on its path towards growth. The qualifying holdings procedure for the purchasing group has now been positively concluded by the European Central Bank. Closing of the transaction took place on 15 July 2024

fwp successfully advised Kommunalkredit, an Austrian bank specialising in sustainable financing, in the acquisition of an 80% majority interest by Altor. In addition to complex liability and regulatory issues fwp's legal advice included a comprehensive due diligence review and structuring of the international transaction.

Due to the additional financial and technical resources of the Swedish private equity investor resulting from the acquisition the Austrian specialist bank's strategy to grow into the leading sustainable infrastructure platform in Europe is set to continue. Closing of this highly complex transaction took place on 15 July 2024.
