Vienna, 27 October 2015. Fellner Wratzfeld & Partner Rechtsanwälte GmbH (fwp) successfully advised atms Telefon- und Marketing Services GmbH on the acquisition of “sms.at” mobile internet services gmbh.

In this transaction, former shareholder Up to Eleven Digital Solutions GmbH sold its 100% interest in sms.at, including the websms line of business, to atms. This acquisition further strengthens atms’ competence in mobile dialogue solutions for business customers. fwp successfully provided legal advice to atms on this transaction.

sms.at has been operating in Austria for about 15 years and is one of the leading internet service providers for text message communications. Among other things, its service offer includes two-factor authentication for web services. With this procedure, users will, in addition to using a password during login, also receive a security code via text message that is valid only for a short period of time, for instance for banking purposes.

Having acquired sms.at, atms is now able to offer its customers an even fuller range of customer dialogue solutions. International business activities in cooperation with dtms, the Germany-based owner of atms, are to be further expanded as well.

After all the necessary approvals under antitrust law regulations had been obtained, the takeover was successfully completed with the closing on 8 October 2015.
