Fellner Wratzfeld & Partner Rechtsanwälte GmbH (fwp) is advising Oesterreichische Kontrollbank AG (OeKB) on the acquisition of roughly 69 per cent of Österreichische Hotel- und Tourismusbank Gesellschaft m.b.H (ÖHT). The deal was signed on 11 March 2019. The closing of the transaction remains subject to approval under anti-trust law.

Oesterreichische Kontrollbank AG (OeKB) relied on the long-standing experience of fwp’s bank law team, led by partner Markus Fellner, when acquiring the majority of the shares of Österreichische Hotel- und Tourismusbank Gesellschaft m.b.H. (ÖHT), a bank specialising in financing and funding in the tourism and leisure industry.

Upon completion of this transaction, OeKB will have acquired the stakes of former shareholders UniCredit Bank Austria AG (50%) and Erste Bank der oesterreichischen Sparkassen AG (18.75%).

For fwp, work on this transaction follows in the wake of decades of providing advice to banks and on banking-related transactions, taking account of all the specific aspects characteristic of a specialised bank.
