His arrival strengthens the firm's interdisciplinary orientation and underscores its strategic focus on areas of law that are relevant for the future.

fwp is delighted to welcome Thomas Baumgartner, an experienced attorney for compliance and dispute resolution, especially in banking and the public sector. Previously, Vienna-born Baumgartner worked for renowned business law firms where he supported businesses in the implementation and development of tailored compliance management systems, in legal issues in connection with EU sanctions law and disputes both in and out of court, among other things.

The certified compliance officer possesses international experience he gained from his work for a leading German law firm specialising in compliance, where he was involved in highly sensitive and complex internal investigations and compliance monitorships on behalf of US authorities. His specialisation also includes interdisciplinary advice in the area of ESG, such as, for example, in sustainability reporting and in the practical implementation of due diligence duties along the supply chain, whistleblowing systems and taxonomy requirements.
