With the 6th amendment of the COVID-19 facilitations regulation, there will be further relaxation for trade and service companies as well as changes in the hotel and restaurant industry. The regulation currently provides for the following regulations:

  • In principle, the requirement to wear a mouth and nose protector is not applicable any more. Only in public pharmacies is it necessary to wear a mechanical protective device covering the mouth and nose area.
  • A distance of at least one meter must be kept from people who do not live in the same household. If the safe distance cannot be maintained due to the nature of the service (e.g. hairdressers), it must be ensured, that the risk of infection can be minimized by other suitable protective measures.
  • The obligation to maintain the distance does not apply between persons with disabilities and their accompanying persons who provide personal assistance or care, as well as underwater.
  • The requirement to wear a mechanical protective device covering the mouth and nose area does not apply to children up to the age of 6 years and to persons who for health reasons cannot reasonably be expected to wear a protective mask.
  • Hospitality establishments may now be entered between 05.00 and 01.00 the following day. Also, larger groups of visitors are now permitted at one table.
  • The administration areas must be set up in such a way that there is a distance of at least one meter between the groups of visitors. This does not apply if the risk of infection can be minimized by suitable protective measures for spatial separation (e.g. separation by means of Plexiglas panes).
  • Customers must keep a minimum distance of 1 meter from other visitors who are not part of their group.
  • Self-service is now permitted, provided that special hygienic precautions can minimize the risk of infection.
